Classic fabrics are ones that will always be in style, season after season, year after year. When it comes to Fall/Winter, I love to add patterned fabrics to my wardrobe especially with my cardigans, sweaters and above all my Coats. I find these patterned fabrics to be unique in style and looks.
On today’s blog post, I will be sharing more on Plaids and how to style them for Fall.
Plaids are one of my favorite fabrics next to houndstooth and they sort of give me similar vibes with the classic black and white colors they come in. Recently, these fabrics have been modified to include various colors and blend of different colors as well. They are the perfect Fall/Winter fabric that adds texture and character to your wardrobe.
Scrolling through New York & Company’s website, they had a plethora of plaid pieces and I was looking to pick items that I could mix together or style individually, and I found this Plaid Chain Cabbie hat first which I instantly fell in love with. The color, the chain and the design was perfect for me as I had never owned one of these hats and didn’t mind starting off with this one. I was a little confused on what to pick for my outerwear because I style as I shop online, eventually I went for this cardigan with gold buttons.

Styling these Plaid pieces for Fall is usually easy since you can always pair them with a solid color piece, like a pair of jeans whether white, black or colored. You can also take a little risk by mixing them in a print mix kind of way, which will certainly turn out nice because you are working with the same fabric. I decided to style mine in both ways by using a pair of black leggings and boots while I added a pop of color with the cabbie hat. For colder months, I could throw on a pair of black or red coat for a more cohesive color look, or I could go with a third color option and it will be perfectly fine. The cabbie hat tops off that accessory look, which in turns keeps the head warm and without a doubt, adds that Parisian vibe to the entire look.
