When it comes to trend, it never ends. It is an ongoing cycle where pieces, styles, accessories and looks make a comeback and this time around, it’s Gingham!! Yes it’s gone and came back again in full force for Spring Summer. From maxi skirts to espadrilles to sneakers, tops, dresses and even earrings. If you take a scroll down Pinterest Lane, you will discover a unique pattern and trend with colorful gingham looks, from one color to multiple colors in one piece.
Frankly speaking, I never thought I would love or wear gingham again in my life, because it reminded me of my boarding school days back in Nigeria, where we all had to wear “day wears” which came in gingham fabric and mine was yellow in color. 16 years later, here I am styling a gingham look in two different colors, I guess life happens and things make a come back in a fashionable way.
With my love for color blocking looks, I decided to style this green gingham set in a different way, by combining a totally different skirt and print, which brings me a little close to print mixing. Yes they are both gingham pieces but the fabrics and gingham sizes are a little different. The green top is from a target set which I shared ways to style on my Instagram. This is one of the looks I created for the Reel, and decided to share on my blog.
Never think hard on how to pair your gingham pieces for Summer. Remember, it’s all about having fun, feeling comfortable and confident in whatever you wear. I never know how an outfit will look until I put it on. Pair your ginghams in different colors. The bolder and brighter, the better the look. Accessorizing with some black and white pieces, to highlight those colors on the outfit. This schutz two tones mules have been one of my favorite ones, love the kitten heels, and the unique design. A mini croc black bag and a thrifted express belt to accentuate my waist.
