What Looks Good With A Denim Skirt.

how to style denim skirts

A denim skirt is a versatile wardrobe piece that pairs well with tops, blouses, shirts, knitwear, blazers creating a balanced silhouette. One of my favorite pieces to style is a skirt in any style or form, except mini skirts.

You may be wondering if denim skirts are still in style in 2026, and the answer is yes. A denim skirt is very much still in style because they are classics. Think maxi denim skirts, mixed patch denim skirts, midi lengths etc.

are denim skirts outdated?

You may be wondering what looks good with a denim skirt, it is out-dated and should remain in the past. Like every other or most pieces, trends come and go, but time brings them back in a more refined way. This is the same with denim skirts. They are no longer associated with the early 2000s, but have continued to be universal staple pieces.

If you are struggling to style your denim skirts, introduce trendy items like a shoulder bag, chunky earrings and necklace, sneakers or mules. As the months get warmer, think tank tops, contrast shoes etc for a fashionable look. Or you can keep it simple with a white button down shirt, heeled mules, belt, oversized bag and a pair of sunglasses for a chic look. Still unsure about what to wear with your denim skirt, choose other denim pieces. Go the Canadian tuxe way or mix and match denim washes. Still seems outdated, add contrasting textures like suede.
