I get it, you see these bloggers with incredible pictures in beautiful locations and you just wonder how do they do it, what time do they have, and how much resources do they put into these kind of photos. Without a doubt, it can be a struggle for most of us bloggers, especially new moms, mothers without baby sitters, work schedule etc. While these are some prevalent factors that affect content creators, there are also ones such as weather and as we approach Fall/Winter, there will be some days that it will be practically impossible to shoot contents outside of your home.
On today’s blog post, I will be sharing tips on how to create content at home and how to make good use of your personal space for content creation.
I pulled three looks shot from by bedroom to create a clear illustration of how to create content from home. You may not have the best space available to you but you can make use of what you have. The first tip to creating from home is finding the best place with good natural lighting and for me, it’s my bedroom. Although I have other spots at home, my bedroom seems to be the perfect spot in terms of background and space. I have noticed that contents shot in this spot always do well, compared to some I travel far to a location to shoot.
Next tip is making sure you don’t have clutter in your background and it’s okay to have objects behind you provided they don’t take away the focus from you. I have seen/follow some accounts with mirror selfie photos all through, with their furniture in the background and they are doing so great in terms of growth and engagement. It’s all about making what is available to you work out.
Another tip for creating content at home is being able to move things around to create the space you need. Most times I shoot in my kitchen and bathroom, so I move things around to create the ideal background I want. I shoot all my fashion videos in this spot because it gives me ample space to move back and forth. Speaking of shooting in my bathroom and kitchen, here are some examples below:
The last tip to note is having the right tools/equipments to help make the process easy. You may not be opportune to have a photographer or partner helping you, so you will need a tripod and most tripods are easy to get for either phone or camera. You will for sure need a camera and it must not be an actual camera but your phone can work best. All images shared on this blog were shot on my Iphone 11. You will also needing more lighting if you don’t have sufficient natural light coming into your house.
