My Nighttime Skincare Routine; Benefits of Ceramides, Peptides and Retinol.

Night time skincare routine and why cermadies, Peptides and Retinol are the best.

I have finally found a set night time skincare routine. I never really had a fixed night routine except for product switches; examples are omitting sunscreen at night, using retinol and AHA based products as well as overnight sleeping mask. These skincare products are significantly for night time.

After a long period of using my day time skin care products for my night time skincare routine, I finally began to establish a separate night time routine especially with a particular skincare ingredient. The moment I knew about Ceramides, Peptides and their benefits? I took on to them straightaway. They are what you call the skin barrier builder, the skin barrier restorer, and the skin barrier protector!

Ceramides and Peptides can be included serums and moisturizers to stimulate collagen production. This collagen production helps to keep the skin from sagging as we age, and it makes the skin plumper and youthful looking. These ceramides and peptides trigger skin firmness, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Not only do they produce collagen, they also strengthen skin’s barrier. This is the reason why I incorporated them into my night time skincare routine. After a long day, my skin needs a restorative measure at night, to help build a stronger barrier for the next day. The environmental stressors that target my skin during the day, is enough to break down its barrier, that is why I use the Cocokind Ceramide Barrier Serum at night to help strengthen and replenish my skin for the following day. This is my second bottle in their Ceramide Barrier Serum and I can tell that my skin loves it. I lock in the moisture with their Polypeptide moisturizer which plumps and firms my skin.

Retinol is another great night time skincare ingredient. It’s been about three months now since I introduced retinol to my routine, and I can’t tell you how happy I am that my skin loves it. I can see how clear and youthful my skin looks. The Murad Retinal Overnight treatment is a good one to try out if you are thinking of introducing one to your routine.

Bakuchiol is natural alternative to retinol. It is a gentle form of Vitamin A and not a high potency like Retinol. You can layer Backuchiol and Retinol to firm up the skin, reduce fine line and wrinkles. If your skin is sensitive, it is advisable to introduce Bakuchiol to your routine first.
