Spring is here and there is no rush to start buying new items just yet. You can put together some easy looks from your existing wardrobe. It is also a time where people tend to start wearing more colors. The brighter the weather, the urge to wear more fun colorful looks.
There is saying as to what a good Spring outfit entails. However, there are definitely some looks that would pass the test as to what a Spring outfit should look like and if you are someone like me that loves to wear colors, or you absolutely don’t, but would love to wear more colors this Spring, then keep on reading.
styling muted/monochromatic looks.
Muted colors are the opposite of bright and vivid colors. They are made of subtle shades like soft lilacs, butter yellow, powder/pale blue. In case you are wondering, any color can be muted by being dulled or greyed. No matter how bright a color is, once you mix it with grey, they become muted. A good way to style a muted spring outfit is by wearing pastel shades as a monochrome look. They are not saturated like a bright bold color.
The first step to styling a cohesive look is by picking a color of your choice. It doesn’t have to be a particular color, but anyone that you feel comfortable wearing. Once that is done, you begin to narrow it down to the shades you want to style. When creating monochromatic outfits, I tend to choose different fabrics in other to break the uniformity that comes with styling such looks.
When narrowing down your shades, keep in mind that they don’t have to be exactly the same, but should come from the same family of color. Eg. Styling bright orange with muted orange (peach) is a good way to create such look.
