Daily/Weekly Habits That Fuel Me.

daily/weekly habits that helps you grow

There are things I have come to understand that are necessary to fuel my body, soul and mind. These daily/weekly activities are what keeps me grounded, energizes my spiritual, mental and physical well being in other for me to show up as my best self.

Besides Rest, Boundaries and Self-love, these are the things I do either daily or weekly to fuel me. I call them my non-negotiables.

First, is finding time to read my bible and pray daily. In my family, we have chosen to do our devotional in what I call the most chaotic but fulfilling way. Our lives are so busy especially during school mornings, but we take turns in saying prayer and reading a bible scripture for that day. I also take time before bed most nights, to meditate on the Bible again, sing and journal. I find that when I do this, I have a peaceful night sleep and, I commune with the Holy Spirit who has become my constant source of help and strength.

Secondly, I cannot compromise on my daily self-care routines, shower time, skincare time, and using quality beauty products that make me feel and look good. I also consider this my alone time, where I get to relax and reset.

Thirdly, choosing to prepare and eat healthy meals daily. I feel the difference when I eat out. So, I choose to make home made nourishing meals. I cook regularly which, I think, has become therapeutic for me. I become creative with every meal I make. In the same way, I consume more water, tea etc and less to no alcohol, juice and soda. Really focusing on my gut health. However, I cherish a good girl time, night out with my friends, restaurant hopping etc.

Fourth, is taking daily walks. This, I have come to enjoy a lot. In the past, I would take walks with my family, but I decided to do these on my own. Staying active has become a huge part of my lifestyle lately, and I can feel the difference in my mood whenever I take long walks alone. I get the opportunity to meditate and just be by myself. It is empowering. My husband encouraged me to add weights to my exercise routine, and it’s a major difference in my body functionality.

non-negotiable daily habits.

Finding joy in the little things like arranging flowers my husband buys me, taking out time to makeup and wear nice clothes. I do these things for myself, to look good and to feel good. Sometimes, they can be perceived as being vain, but, that is to the people who do not understand the power and mystery behind getting ready everyday, taking care of your body and looking good. It uplifts my spirit.

Having clean sheets, towels and a tidy space every day/week is very key. Lately, my husband calls me OCD lol but, I just cannot function with dirty or untidy places. However, I close my eyes to when my boys make a mess with their toys, but I ham them to tidy up.

In asmuchas I love at home self-care routines, I enjoy being pampered through Spa dates. I am over due for one and, I would love to go to a head massage spa now I cut my hair, or have a mobile pedicure salon come to me!.
