Exploring new beauty products is an exciting thrill I look forward to. I discover old and new, what works and what doesn’t, what is worth the hype depending on price tag, texture, feel, look, wearability and final look. Everything beauty encompasses both skincare and makeup; for me, a good makeup look, starts with a good skin, and how do you achieve a good skin, without good skincare that works for you.

Treat, tone and protect the skin.
Right before I apply makeup, I ensure that I tone, treat and protect my skin. By toning, I use my Pixi vitamin C toner, to prep my skin for my other skincare products to soak in appropriately. Next is my serum, to begin treating my skin. I always use a Vitamin C serum, or a hydrating serum. This is where the magic begins, and then to protect my skin, I moisturize and apply my sunscreen. These steps sets your skin up for a successful makeup look.
essentials for a flawless makeup base.

Makeup I have been loving lately, for both everyday look and a full glam, is first the hydrating primer from smash box, especially during this dry season. I make sure my brows are groomed and in place, ready to be either filled in or cleaned out for a more defined look. I do not use a primer everyday, but if I would be wearing my makeup for long periods of the day, I highly recommend. This is where it gets interesting with my makeup. The skin perfecting product for my base. Most of you know I am big on tinted moisturizers with SPF rather than foundations. Tinted serums are now huge as well. These tend to provide more skincare base for my makeup looks. However, there are serum foundations out there and Lancome has one.

Once my base is done, I begin to build my look with my concealer. I have been reaching for my Maybelline, Lancome, Pat Mcgrath or Versed concealers. Then comes blush for a hint of flush shade to my skin. What I am loving the most is my lip serums, lip chic shades, lip balms, and lip glosses. To make my eye more awake, I do a simple eye look, and for a more bold look, add some color! Never forget to lock in the makeup with a setting mist from Loreal, Urban decay or Milk Makeup. I have been indulging in quite a few makeup products from Chantecaille lately and they are absolutely gorgeous.
