Wedding season is upon us, and what better party to attend than a Nigerian traditional marriage. I am going to be bias for a moment, and say it is the most colorful, glamorous, extravagant, classy and entertaining ceremony to ever attend. If there is one party I urge you to attend in this life, please be a guest at a Nigerian wedding.

This is the extravagant I mean, when it comes to Nigerian weddings. From our Gele, to the makeup and accessories, is bold. We do not do minimal anything. Instead, we lean into maximalism with a touch of class and excellence. It is the true essence of who we are as a cultural being. We express our bold and unapologetic culture through the mixture of quality fabrics, head piece, shoes, bags and makeup.
For my makeup, I was going for something more than my usual everyday makeup look of course. A combination of versed serum skin tint, Armani beauty foundation and Urban decay bond luminizer in tiny drops, to create the flawless glowy makeup base. On my eyes, I focused on a golden eyelids using the Chanel beauty Les ombre, which pairs beautifully with a bold red lipstick.
Of course a custom made corset dress for my whole look. Which is a typical Asoebi look for a Nigerian traditional wedding.

Have you been a guest at a Nigerian wedding, if you have, please share your experience.
