As weird as it may sound, blazers are worn all year round and even in the hottest season- summer. We automatically think once the weather gets warmer, we switch all the pieces that are better for colder temperatures and one of them is a Blazer. However, there is an exception when it comes to blazers as you see people wear and style them even in the summertime.
In today’s blog post, I will be sharing ways in which you can incorporate a blazer into your summer wardrobe/looks.
It is advisable to first do away with your wooly blazers as those tend to produce more heat to the body. However, there are a ton of other lightweight blazers you can incorporate into your wardrobe and this Crinkled one from Shein is light and airy (Sold out) but you can keep an eye out for it here. Also keep an eye out for these tapered pants here while you shop similar ones HERE, HERE, & HERE.
Styling blazers in the summertime is the easiest if you ask, because you don’t have to think about any layering technique, you just throw anything underneath and go! It can be a tank top, a crop top like mine, a silk cami or a bralette and in some case, nothing at all. Wear as is and you can belt it to keep it secured and avoid flashing boobs around. Always pair your blazers with lightweight pieces underneath to help the circulation of air around your body.
In other instances, you can style with a little white/black dress, for a simple yet chic look. Pleated skirts, cutoff shorts and sandals, or a light weight jumpsuit.
With the emergence of crop blazers, they are easy to style during summer as they compliment the weather. You can style those with a pair of high waist skirts, shorts or pants.
Other styling tips includes, rolling up the sleeves of your blazers and secure them with some hair bands so they don’t continuously slide off your arm, opt for cape blazers to help air circulation, throw them over your shoulders like I did or hold them your hands for an accessory-kind of look. Pair entire look with a pair of sandals, pumps or sneakers, depending on what your bottom piece is. I was going for a yellow and green cohesive-brunch look for mine.
