What really is a traditional cocktail outfit? As we find ourselves in the middle of an eventful season where parties, occasions and celebratory activities will occur, there is always something to wear. Something as easy as a black and white look.
Whenever you hear cocktail attire, what comes to your mind is more of a formal look rather than a casual look. Relatively, it means dress formally but not “too formal”. You are not going to a court appearance lol. This is where your outfit choices come to play. For us women, a cocktail attire means midi and mini dresses that will make you look chic and dressy, but not trashy because mini has a way of making you look sloppy or skimpy if they are way too short.
It is best to always go for elegant and comfortable pieces. Don’t get black tie dress codes mixed up with cocktail attires. Leave the floor length ball gowns and opt for something more midi. Please ditch your jeans as they are not appropriate for a cocktail attire, no matter how you elevate them.
It is never complicated when you have to put a cocktail outfit together. Although the dress code my seem out of your wardrobe reach, there are definitely pieces you can put together to make up a look without having to shop for something new.
I pulled this lace cocktail outfit together by pairing individual pieces to create an illusion of a dress. Lace always has a way of making an outfit look dressy with a feminine touch. Both items are thrift store finds and the top can be worn as a beach cover up.

Oh let me tell you how I landed this choker necklace that looks like the Vivienne Westwood Pearl Bas Relief Choker. I got this Monarched-n choker necklace from Aldo through a targeted Instagram ad which I fell for. The butterfly pendant looks similar to the one on Vivienne Westwood until you take a closer look to see the notable difference. It is the perfect accessory for a cocktail outfit.
Pointy toe kitten heels are definitely a good pick as you may be standing for a little while. The rhinestones match perfectly with the choker necklace, as it brings the accessories together.
