When you think of going to the beach, your first instinct will be a no makeup look. However, one of the most important product to use before applying your makeup is sunscreen. Whether you choose a full glam or a simple makeup look, there are some techniques and products you need to adopt when creating a beach makeup look.

It is advisable to use hydrating and SPF infused makeup products as much as you can because you will be out in the sun for long periods of time. Note that no matter what you choose, your makeup will still smudge because of the intense heat but it is best to choose waterproof makeup especially if you will be deep diving into the water.

Prepping your skin is key to other products following. Glowy and Bronzy looks are the best for the beach because they depict the atmosphere.

I used the Elf Halo Glow Liquid Filter as my base after applying my Supergoop Glow Stick sunscreen, which acts as a primer and highlighter.

The newest product I have been loving is the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Skin Tint with SPF 25, which acts as an additional layer of sunscreen. This provides a medium coverage to the skin without feeling heavy or thick, which makes it perfect for the beach.

The Undone Beauty Mega Creme Espresso wowed me. The pigment and intensity of this product makes it perfect for that bronzed beach look. It is easy to blend out and makes for the perfect smudge proof product. Cream products are easier to touch up especially when your makeup smudges from the beach heatwaves. I used the cream blushing highlighter in this palette as well.

For concealer, I used the Huda Beauty Faux Filter Concealer and to brighten my under eyes for additional glow, I used the Merit Perfecting Complexion Stick.
