Now, we find ourselves in a world full of beauty products, it can be tempting to want it all, buy it all or use it all. While you can’t buy and use it all, you may still find yourself consuming quite a lot of makeup products, including myself. There are ways to have a lot of beauty products, but still simplify your makeup routine.
On today’s blog post, I will be sharing ways in which you can create a simple makeup routine that you can stick to over time.
The first step to simplifying your makeup steps, is by taking note of the products you really love. Are you a foundation girl or a blush girl. Are you more of a skin tint or a lipstick girl. Once you have figured out what you cannot do without in a makeup routine, you begin to streamline your looks to fit that one or two key products.
The second step is to build your looks on those key products you love, without having to incorporate every or any makeup trend that launches. Eg, I don’t use color correctors, so I have never had a need to include them in my makeup routine. That is one step closer to simplifying my makeup routine, and yours may be a blush or a foundation.

Third step is minimizing how many products you use while creating a makeup look, especially your everyday looks. For me, I stick to 7 products when doing my makeup. A Brow Gel, Skin Tint, Concealer, Blush, Mascara, Lip Gloss/ Lip Stick. Some days, I eliminate skin tint and just spot conceal. If ever I use a eyeshadow palette, it’s 2 out of 10 times. However, I must use a blush and a lip balm; those are the key products that I must use whether it’s a for a full face look or an everyday simple look.
The fourth and final step is; It is okay to buy the makeup products that you love and would love to try it out, but it is better to use up what you have before repurchasing more. This step, I am also learning to exhaust my makeup products before buying new ones. This is such difficult step tp being a makeup minimalist, especially when your content is centered around beauty. I can slo blame the makeup brands that continuously launch gorgeous lippies that every girl wants.
