If you have been on the fence on whether a nighttime skincare routine is necessary or not, keep on reading. With so many beauty products/brands out there, it can confusing as to whether you need a separate night routine. Some feel that may be aiding consumerism.

Going to bed with your makeup is unacceptable and that is the first reason to having a nighttime skincare routine. While you may feel too tired to indulge in a routine, you can save your skin some concerns on the long run by sticking to something simple. It would be unwise to not completely take off your makeup. This also applies to days you have no makeup on, because our skin is constantly being exposed to environmental stressors like sun damage, air pollutions, dirt, oil etc which clogs your pores.
I get asked all the time what I do to have a good skin. My answer has always been simple; “I wash my face twice a day”. I never talk about any particular product first, but the routine of cleansing twice daily. Then afterwards, I can talk about the products I use because it is not about the products but the consistency.
Skin repair & rejuvenation.
The next reason why I find a nighttime skincare routine absolutely necessary is; The skin tends to reset, repair and rejuvenate itself better at night, especially when you are sleeping. It is a time your skin actively produces new skin cells with better texture. That is not the time to go to bed with makeup, when you skin is trying to repair itself. Clogged pores don’t get rejuvenated. It is better to go to bed with a cleansed and hydrated skin, ready to wake up youthful and rejuvenated.
